Forget about turns, this is real time chess. It's hectic, chaotic and short. The winner is the guy who is able to process everything and cope under stress. Welcome to the new chess experience.

Note about this release
It's the first public beta. The game is playable, but the computer is not that smart. Winning is relatively easy, though not inevitable.

Bugs are likely! I know of a couple, but if you find any more or have suggestions for improvements, please let me know here or tweet me at @svenardocom on Twitter.

This is awesome!! Great work man.

One of the bugs I'm sure you're aware of is that:
When the CPU gets a pawn to the opposite end of the board, he doesn't trade it in for another piece; He stays a pawn.

Hilarious never thought of chess like this.

Thank you guys :)
Yeah, there are some core chess rules that are not implemented yet. Promotion, castling and check are things I've got on a shortlist. Working on a better AI is the first thing though, because it's pretty dumb.

Is there a multiplayer implementation coming soon?
That would be just awesome.

Thanks for asking :) I want to get back on this and write multiplayer, so at one point I'm gonna just have to do it. I was nearly there, having written the node server and the integration, but then I sort of drifted away from the project. It's very nearly there, I think, just the final stretch to bring it in.
