Just thought I'd post this weird, LEGO inspired game i made sometime before christmas. It's sort of a failed experiment that went through some weird compromises during development, but I thought someone might still like it.

I really like the opening sequence and first three levels. When I got to the fourth I was a little overwhelmed. Earlier in the game I appreciated the lack of direction because it let me experiment with the mechanics and find the solutions (which lead to them being satisfying) but when I got to the fourth level it felt clumsy. I did not understand the robots/machinery -- some of the objects were familiar to me and some were not. I was also confused with why I was generating legos at such a high rate. Overall I think the game is excellent and maybe another level or two explaining the new game elements in level four would make the game even stronger.

Yeah, the jump from level 3 to 4 makes it feel really disjointed. The game started as a very open-ended affair, where the point was to let the players explore the world and the mechanics at their own pace, with just one big open level. It worked to some degree, but I realized too late that I wouldn't have time to create enough interesting content to make it fun exploring for more than a couple of minutes, so I tried to shoehorn it into a more level based thing. It ended up being this weird chimera consisting of two very separate ideas, but I learned a lot, and I think my next attempt at a game about exploration will be more succesful :)
