Hello all, I'm currently building a game for a cool client in Canada and we're running into bigger performance issues with running it on mobile. Heres a quick background on it:
- The game is a sideways scroller that needs to run on mobile (iphone, ipad, bb and android) (but SMOOTHLY!)
- Basically tapping the top half of the screen is to jump, bottom half is to duck, there are also sprites for each
- Collision with items will decrease 10% health, theres also a +10% health item and a couple other features
We hired the first developer to build out a version of the game who uses his own JS framework that ran on dom and transforms (not canvas) with MVC. It ran pretty smooth as just blocks on mobile: http://12oz.ca/game/
Then he ran into personal issues and could not complete the game so I hired another guy who changed the backend into a more canvas oriented backend but now it runs quite terrible on mobile: http://rand.dudeami.com/game/
Right now I'm trying to source a possible alternate route to building the game so it runs better and thus the reason why I started looking at Impact as a possible replacement. Even if it means being rebuilt from the backend, I'm open as long as it can meet a short'ish' timeline.
Do you guys feel this experience can run better on Impact? I'm also needing someone to help so if you have the time please contact me. I can be reached on Skype (lemdon) or via email leigh@mrare.ca.
