I didn't look at how Impact works, but I think Impact is rounding to the pixel because I've never had a sprite go fuzzy. But the way they are talking about rounding using that binary trick could offer further improvement if it's not already being used in Impact.

This was important in Cocos2D as well. We were getting tile maps that would tear (where you could see the edges of the squares). After eliminating the possibility they could be aligned to sub-pixels, the tearing stopped.
