I don't have Impact (yet) but I'm really impressed by everything I've seen. Of course one of the draws of an HTML 5 game engine is the many platforms your game can potentially run on. One platform I have not yet seen mentioned here (unless I missed it) is Google TV, which is actually Android under the hood. I just bought a Logitech Revue yesterday, and was disappointed to find that Biolab Disaster would not run on its Chrome browser. The progress bar on the Impact loading screen stalls about halfway. Has anybody else tried to run Impact games on Google TV, or have any thoughts on what the problem might be? Thanks!

If it's running Android then it's most likely locked up due to the sound trying to be loaded and failing. There is a link to a non sound version you could try but I don't have that link handy

Thanks for the reply. You may be right, but I am able to play biolab disaster on my Android phone (Galaxy S), even though the controls don't really work right.

Does Impact do browser sniffing? I was thinking it could just be that Impact doesn't recognize Google TV's Chrome browser.

I believe Biolab Disater does do browser testing which would be why it works on your phone (turns off load sound files) but is confused on the google TV's

Here is the link to a no sound version of impact: http://impactjs.com/demos/physics/index-mobile.html

If this works then theres our answer :D

I tried that demo (mobile and regular versions), as well as Drop, and all of them get stuck at the loading screen. So it would appear the problem is not specifically related to sound. Any other thoughts?

That's as far as my debugging guesses would go but the creator of Impact (Dominic) is on these forums a lot and I'm sure he would have a better idea of whats going on.

Upon further investigation, it seems the Logitech Revue runs Chrome 5, which I'm guessing does not support all the HTML 5 features needed to run Impact. An update for the Revue is due to roll out soon, which will upgrade the Android OS to Honeycomb, and hopefully a more recent version of Chrome as well. I'll report back once the update rolls out and I have a chance to try it.
