In testing my game with a huge level I noticed there is a big difference between Safari 5.1 and Safari 5.0.4 -- especially when running OS X Lion.

In 5.0.4, my Impact game takes 880 MB of RAM. The new debugger in Impact 1.18 allows me to quickly show how big it is:

The debugger also shows it has a maximum frame rate of 16.

In Safari 5.1 (and Chrome), the same game runs at 30 FPS at all times (and probably 60 if I set it there). And more importantly, it only takes ~256 MB RAM.

Unfortunately this is still a bit too much for the iPad. But the new debugging tools in Impact 1.18 have already proven useful.
