New to this forum , so Hi!
I want to make games manly for ios, but may also try in browser games. Do I need to use Appmobi?
Appmobi have the direct canves featuer which seems great, but you get the iOSImpact Framework with basic impact licence.
I own a mac, so don't need to use the in browser dev stuff. Any help clearing up what's better would really help.
Thanks.
hmm there's really no "better" option. i used appMobi because it's easier for me. But other peeps here used iOSImpact and the games were pretty slick too ( search for Steamclash in the forums)

Thanks. Looks like a cool game. I was really impressed with biolab disaster's performance, so might just skip Appmobi for now.
Is iOSimpact being developed for the next big release or have the Appmobi guy taken over?
Also well done to Dominic on the project!

The other thing is that as explored yesterday, if you use the free XDK, you don't get Impact with it, if you get the paid XDK from AppMobi, you only get enough licences for 5 games with Impact.
iOSImpact is actively developed alongside Impact and is available now (v0.9) with some caveats; it's not a complete replacement for the Canvas element, it's a limited, minimal one. For most things it won't be a problem to use it, it's only if you do things like read individual pixels off the canvas that it won't work properly (I've found, anyway... maybe I'm doing it wrong, heh)
