Have you all seen
CoffeeScript? I love it — I'm writing about 2/3rds less code than with regular JavaScript.
its quite common at node.js
Does anyone code for impact with coffeescript? I'm not sure of its usefulness, what with the need to debug our code from time to time...
coming from ruby, i am really keen to get into CS, but thought i should screw up a few times in js before letting something like coffescript take care of things invisibly. (global variable assignment etc).
Google also has transpiler. it really seems that the js object model has far outlived its ugly syntax, and its neat how people are trying out various better ways to write .js before they are incorporated into core.
btw this is a very nice .cs game ide/lib that is coming along:
