OK, so I dived into working on Impact last night and after ~2 hours work I came up with this little beastie. As I'm not an artist I reused the Drop frame and background but I'll probably tweak that later on today to remove both (and instead use a different background, but it was more to see what I could do inside ~2 hours with an existing background)

Here's the deal: You're a spaceship caught in a meteor storm, one of your engines is burned out so you drift to the left, but you can use the other to push you to the right.

The deal ultimately is to survive as long as you can. Holding down Space will engage your engines and push you to the right but at the cost of fuel. Fuel is replenished with hitting the little petrol pump icon, though it does slowly regenerate while drifting.

How long can you last?

It is a WIP, as I'm not really done with it, still tweaks and balances to do, and it doesn't have any mobile bindings yet, and I'll probably overhaul the graphics to something else but we'll see. Just curious to know what people think.

It is interesting twist on a standard. I'd say my biggest gripe is that if a meteor appears at the correct spot, there is absolutely nothing you can do to avoid it. Even with the quickest reaction times, you simply cannot move out of the way fast enough (either by pressing the space bar or by letting it go). It's a good job for 2 hours though. I might do something similar! Heck, some sort of competition here might be kind of fun to host.

Yeah, I keep meaning to go back and fix the controls, since it shouldn't be using accel but just changing the raw vel of the ship instead (so you have proper control instead of basically just mashing the space bar and hoping you get lucky)

I'll also add in touch support when I do that :)

Did some overhauling on this today, redoing the game so that you have proper control, both in terms of going left/right and that it's not accel based, followed up by touch support too.
