Hi.

I understand Canvas is not supported by IE 8 --
but has anyone had any success with like the Chrome Frame
or any other js libraries or anything in achieving some level of compatibility with versions of internet explorer prior to version 9?

Hi again.

I finally got around to trying Chrome Frame,
and it's both simple and awesome.

Just drop this tag on the index page of your game in the header:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="chrome=1">

Then, if the canvas doesn't load,
you can refer users to this page to install the Chrome Frame:

http://www.google.com/chromeframe

Chrome Frame does not require administrator access to install,
so people using computers on which they are not the adminstrators
can install this and enjoy your game.

I'm having a couple issues with some of my more complex animations,
but this is a pretty cool plug in for anyone serving a market where XP is still prevalent.

Check it out.
