n00b here- trying to follow the instructions on installing this. I installed XAMPP onto my computer, and with very little former knowledge of running webserver based software on my home computer (which is ironic because I'm around servers all day and run my own website) I have accessed the localhost and had plenty of success securing it. However, the instructions read "You should see a directory listing, including your just created impact/ subdirectory." and I see no directories at all. I tried Apache server software too, just in case it was all XAMPP's fault, but I didn't like the interfaces as much. So, with XAMPP reinstalled and the localhost properly set up (with PHP and Apache also properly running) I'm at a loss. Where do I go from here?

Each time I go to access http://localhost/xampp/impact/weltmeister.html the webserver informs me that no such directory exists, even though I unpacked it into the /xampp root directory on my hard drive and have all the impact files properly in place. I'm quite fluent in javascript and all the other major web-based languages (html, css, php, etc.), so once I get this properly set up I should have no further issues.

Thanks in advance.

just drag drop into the wamp's www folder and you should be good to go.

Good to go with what? I just tried that too and I'm still having no luck. How are you linking to the weltmeister.html page?

... revised

I was linking to the wrong page, and I just figured it out. WAMP works alot better for me now. Thanks for the call on that one.

You know you can change where the directory is? So if you set it to a folder somewhere called "games" you can then goto http://localhost/GAMENAME/ and access multiple projects through one installation. Then again, I use MAMP PRO which lets you have multiple aliases for multiple locations. Check it out :)
