Is this a feature of ImpactJS or a characteristic of Javascript games in general?
If it's a feature of ImpactJS where can I disable this?
Honestly, I can’t think why you’d want to. Having the game carry on when it’s not active will only tear into your CPU usage needlessly.
That being said, I didn’t realise this was built into IMPACT, I’ve always done it externally.
i've also done it externally. Search around for the pause function in the forums, there's some code there.

It's how browser works there is no need to assign processor cycles needlessly if your browser is out of focus.
Unless the game is persistent in some way, like a game with a multi-player element.
I've only been modifying the Physics demo, I guess Dominic has it built in special.
Thanks!
