Hi Guys - I've seen there is a lot of new starters so I wrote this simple game today
http://invaders.cdgn.co.uk (I just set the subdomain so give it 10-15 mins to become live)
I also included the source code in a zip file
http://invaders.cdgn.co.uk/SI_source_code.zip
You get all graphics, entities source and the main.js

I made a space invaders game as my first test project - still is dev. I come for a Action Script background, but really like how easy impact is to use.
You can see the game here -

I love this initiative. Nothing helps you learn a new library/engine/language more than simple working examples. It's great to have this in addition to the Jump n' Run Platformer, Drop and the Pong game. I welcome more examples of different types of games that show what Impact is capable of.
Just a reminder... Point of Impact was designed as a central place for all these examples and resources for developers.

Um, not sure if you haven't got something funky with the SSL cert...
You attempted to reach www.pointofimpactjs.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as alpha.galaxisweb.com. This may be caused by a misconfiguration on the server or by something more serious. An attacker on your network could be trying to get you to visit a fake (and potentially harmful) version of www.pointofimpactjs.com. You should not proceed.
But yeah, I love the idea of PoI as a site, and there's no doubt that it's becoming the 'go-to' place for resources. I just wish it were a touch easier to bundle up a game+resources+documentation in a beginner-friendly way.
Whoops, accidentally put 'https' as the address. There isn't a valid SSL cert on that domain so it was throwing an error. Link fixed.

@stahlmanDesign that was the idea I made something quick so people can download it have a look and try something of their own. I don't say it's the best example of coding but in a scarce resource that's something.
@Graphikos I already uploaded it to pointofimpact ;)

By the way I will post the "making of" tutorial soon on my blog so you'll receive step by step guide on how to build your own space invaders. With some ideas how to extend your game.
