I would like 100x100 tiles but I want them to overlap on a 55x55 grid is there a way to do this in weltmeister? If not is there a way I can do this and import it?

I'm not sure I understand. I think you could create 2 layers, each 55x55, and let them overlap.

A picture of what you want to do would help :)

In this screen shot you can see 55x55 tiles and 100x100 walls (pink ones with skulls... yeah I know... not my art... anyway...) the walls overlap by 45 pixels creating a semi-isometric look. You can also see a table or alter at the south side of the screen shot as an object that is bigger than the tiles. How many entities is too many? Do they hurt much if they aren't being rendered? I see about 50 on this screen if I duplicated this scene using entities as walls. Making the map would be hard but not impossible. I have code to render entities by the tile already existing on the map. So I could make a tile under the wall that tells my main to spawn an entity there but should I kill the entity when the player leaves the screen?

Here is kind of what I want to do.  I could use tiles for the walls but if you wanted to break a wall down or portal through one with a magic spell it might cause problems.			</div>
