I created this topic, when you do not know how to use the Cyrillic alphabet in bitmap font.
Poesle unsuccessful searching, I decided to write a plugin that allows you to specify ranges of Unicode characters. Using my new plugin and font generator for it, you can use any characters in any order in the bitmap fonts.
Use an updated version FontGenPro:

Maybe you should make this in to a plugin.

There's not much to the font tool. It's just a .html file and a tiny SWF to gather the client's font list. I've uploaded it here:

Any chance your method can be used to add support for additional fonts, like Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc.?

no, unfortunately I do not understand these languages and in their letters. Using my plugin is not difficult to support other languages

what would be the easiest way to add some additional currency signs in font tool generator. I would need € currency sign to be added.

All I can help you, it is added to the generator fonts checkbox to replace the $ to €. See the link ---->
