I am having to write a small simple game that HAS to work on IE7 and IE8 ... has anyone had any experience with using something like excanvas or flashcanvas to allow these order browsers to work?

Cheers!

You'll probably better off using Flash in the first place. I'm all for HTML5 over Flash but is there a reason you need it to be in HTML5?

agreed, the big advantages of writing a game in HTML5 is being able to go mobile easily

Google's Chrome Frame plugin is a nice solution as well.

Graphikos has a point though.

If they are going to install something special to get support, why not just install a decent browser? It is most likely that Flash is already installed though.
