I have developed a 2.5D RPG game using Impact.
The player can walk to any direction, and the map just to be an Image.
But how to realize "shelter"? For example, the player can be in front of a tree, or behind of a tree.

Do you have any plan to enhance these aspect of Impact?

Apart from the fact that you can declare a foreground layer in 1.19's level editor, which effectively allows you to do that for a layer, you can alter the zIndex for those entities (since they should really be entities) to push them ahead of the player if necessary.

Does your 2.5D engine use a collision map?

Isn't 2.5d an isometric map???

2.5D can also be top down with a strong vertical angle.
