I am creating a game with Impact and when I run what I have so far in a browser on an iphone/droid, it runs great. But when I created an AppMobi project, it ran great in the emulator, but choppy when I tested it over wifi.
I don't know if this is due to the fact that you have to use their test app? I would like to see some video of real game play on a device using their Furious Foul game or some other game that involves movement.
Has anyone else ran an appmobi powered game on a device? What was your result?
Thanks

I haven't gotten to that point yet Ken, but I found an interesting comment on Dominic's personal blog:

Scroll down to comment #76. It talks about an iphone hardware rendering trick using translate3d. I haven't tried that out, but it would be interesting to know if it makes a difference.

Well, it should run with the same speed in appMobi than it does in the iPhone's (Android's?) browser.
Have you read the
Impact on Mobile Platforms article? Especially the part about pre-rendered backgrounds and resolution.

@MikeL - Thanks for the link. I will def try that. Excellent.
@Dominic - Actually the appmobi test was before I implemented pre-rendering. There was still a little difference between, AM and the browser. After I implemented pre-rendering at least in the browser it is very smooth and fast. So I am looking forward to testing it again. Im testing on a friends droid so I think I will just sign up for the AM pro account so I can send them the tests and not need to be in the same place.
But I must complement you on your engine. I am remaking a game I build several years ago in flash, and when playing it so far, the speed is great and the development time is measured in hours not days. Im thrilled with Impact.

So I tested after I put in your recommendations for mobile development and the game runs great in a browser, but is choppier when using AppMobi. I will keep testing and update if I come across anything that brings AppMobi rendering up to what Im getting by just using the default browser.

*Correction* AppMobi runs prefectly. It was my understanding and implementation of viewports that was making me think there was an issue. AppMobi was running just as fast as the browser once I saw what was going on.
Sorry for the confusion. First time developing for mobile devices. :)
Horribly slow for a very basic game and does not support above Android 2.2. Gonna try phonegap as it seems more up to date.
