Hey all-

Impact n00bie here. Been having trouble getting Weitmeister to load for the projects I create. I can load Weitmeister for the included samples (BioLab, physics, pong), but when I clone the impact directory to create my own project and test loading Weitmeister, it never loads (I get the buttons & blank loading bar). I'm guessing I need to configure Weitmeister in some way?

No, you don't need to configure Weltmeister, should work without any extra configuration.

That's the kicker. The webserver is setup. The included Impact samples will load Weitmeister fine, but my own projects won't load despite being cloned from the Impact files.

I just tested the following: loaded Weitmeister from Impact (localhost/impact/weltmeister.html) - this loads fine. I copied the Weitmeister files from impact over to my project. I loaded my project - no dice; Weitmeister doesn't load. What am I missing?

I'm at a loss. I tried different images. I verified that for all intents and purposes, my code matches the code in the Pong sample.

Well the first error is about paddle_player.png not being able to load, probably missing. Just copy the whole media folder from pong demo to your folder. Not sure about others, try see errors after you copy media folder.

I tried one last thing: I torpedoed my code and did a copy/paste from the Pong sample for my paddle, paddle-player and paddle-cpu classes. That resolved that error, but now when I run Weitmeister I get this (Weitmeister still does not load):

Out of interest, browse and operating system? I wrote a good chunk of the CSS that is coming back in error.

I'm running WAMP on Windows 7 with Opera 11.10. Here's a pic of my dragonfly. I cloned the Pong game entirely, but using my media and tweaking paddle.js, paddle-player.js and game.js. I removed both puck.js and level/main.js. If somethings wrong, it's in there.

I dont see a loading bar. Does 'Load' button work? Main.js is the most important file of the engine. It should not be removed, ever. Your game is working without it?!

@quidmonkey Somewhere along the line something is missing or broken. If you can load the Weltmeister at all through the sample code, then that's not the problem.

Rather than just copying across the whole demo bit by bit, try building on it. Or you could just go watch the tutorial video's on the site here and here

I still don't get it, why delete main.js and how can the game work? Game class is created there, draw, load level, etc...

Let's try a slightly different tack: I cloned Pong, deleted puck.png and puck.js. In game/main.js, I commented out the 'game.entities.puck' and 'game.levels.main'. I also commented out the Update() method in paddle-cpu.js (because of the puck.js reference). When I do this, Weitmeister doesn't load (no loading bar, clicking the buttons does nothing), and the Javascript console shows something similar to the pic I linked to above. Why?

Because in paddle-cpu.js on line 6 it requires puck entity, the one you deleted. Remove the whole line and a comma on line above.

Make sure you know how to use/view JavaScript error console. This is a very basic error that took us 2 days and 13 replies to resolve, should be done in <10 seconds.

I deleted the the line you mentioned. Chrome's Javascript console gives me this:

Uncaught Failed to load resource: media/paddle-red.png
Uncaught Failed to load resource: media/paddle-blue.png

Both .png's exist in the media directory. Again, this was cloned from the Pong sample & I haven't touch the directory structure nor the Weltmeister config.js.

Check and check again. If they're there there's no reason they shouldn't load (loads of alliteration!)

@quidmonkey. What Alex instructed should work. Are you sure you removed the comma at the end of line 5? Following exactly as above the code should appear as follows:
